Solar PV trained installers have become highly sought after because of the financial incentives put in place for customers of all sorts who have PV installed.
Renewable energy technologies are no longer about “being green” it’s about financial return and energy security.
In order for them to access these incentives they need to use an accredited installer through the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). The MCS is an independent scheme that certifies products and installers in accordance with consistent standards. You can join the scheme through several different operators such as NAPIT, Elecsa or NICEIC.
The good news is that as an electrician you already have most of the skills and qualifications needed to install the systems all you need is to “top-up” your knowledge and training records.
This Solar PV training course, in conjunction with Work at Height training course and your electrical background, meet the training requirements set out in the MCS Standard for PV installers.
• “Clean Energy Cash Back” incentives of up to 41.3p/kWh generated (even if it is used on-site) are available, making microgeneration systems pay for themselves much, much faster. Customers can typically expect an 8-10% return on their investment.
• Commercial businesses can get 0% interest loans from the Carbon Trust for energy saving equipment, which in many cases the energy savings and “Clean Energy Cash Back” will cover the loan repayments. - Solar PV can be part of the solution you offer your customers.
